Can I tow a plant trailer on a standard car licence?
Yes. Both trailers, loaded with their matched excavator, stay under the 4.5T aggregate limit for a standard WA C-class car licence — the 1.7T ViO17-1 on the Apex 2.7T is about 2.3T all up, and the 2.1T ViO20-6 on the Apex AT35 about 2.9T. Check your vehicle's rated towing capacity; most utes and many SUVs are fine.
Is the trailer free when I hire an excavator?
Yes — on any 7-day-plus excavator hire the matched trailer is free. For shorter hires the 2.7T is $30 a day (single day) down to $15 at the 5-day rate, and the 3.5T $35 down to $20, all ex GST.
Can I hire a trailer on its own?
Yes. Either trailer can be hired standalone to move your own gear — up to 2,240kg on the Apex 2.7T and 2,780kg on the Apex AT35 3.5T. Standalone daily rates are in the table above.
Which trailer do I need?
The Apex 2.7T is matched to the 1.7T ViO17-1 and carries the 1.7T only. The galvanised Apex AT35 3.5T carries either machine and has the larger 3.2m × 1.7m deck — if you're hiring the 2.1T ViO20-6, the 3.5T is the one.
