It's simple. We chose Yanmar as our excavator fleet partner because they manufacture the best compact excavators money can buy.
In our search for a premium machine, we investigated the parts of an excavator that matter most — the hydraulic pump system, engine, blade edges, buckets and machine controls. Our research found Yanmar to have the best quality and best-designed machines, hands down. It's little wonder that many well-known "premium" compact excavator brands use Yanmar hydraulic systems, engines and designs in their own machines.
Did you know? Yanmar was the first manufacturer to produce a true zero tail swing design, where the counterweight stays entirely within the width of the tracks through a full 360° rotation. That design lets our machines work in alleyways, between houses and along walls without damaging the surrounds — or the machine. Almost every major compact excavator manufacturer now offers zero tail swing models, all inspired by Yanmar.
Yes — both machines. The 1.7T ViO17-1 pairs with our 2.7T plant trailer and the 2.0T ViO20-6 pairs with our 3.5T trailer, and both combinations stay under the 4.5T aggregate limit for a standard WA C-class licence. Most utes can tow either combo — just check your vehicle's rated towing capacity.
The 1.7T ViO17-1 is the tight-access all-rounder: soakwell installs, trenching, footings and landscaping, with tracks that retract to 950mm for side access — and you can tow it yourself. The 2.0T ViO20-6 steps up the power for deeper trenches (2.4m dig depth), pool digs, limestone wall work (up to 1,100kg of lift) and rock breaking — and its hydraulic hitch swaps attachments without tools. Not sure? Tell us the job and we'll tell you the machine.
On a true zero tail swing excavator the counterweight never passes outside the tracks, even through a full 360° rotation — so you can slew confidently against walls, fences and buildings. Ideal for Perth's tight infill blocks and backyard jobs.
Yes — "digger" is just the everyday name for an excavator, and a mini digger (or small digger) is a compact excavator like our 1.7T Yanmar ViO17-1. Whether you searched for digger hire, mini digger hire, small excavator hire or excavator hire in Perth, it's the same machine — and the same unbeatable rates.
Yes — the machine is hired with a standard bucket set, and we hire a full range of attachments including auger drives with tungsten bits, a rock breaker and a limestone block lifter. Attachments travel on the same custom trailer.
